King is a long-time Philadelphia resident who served as a correctional officer and in the Sheriff’s Office for 26 years. He attended Jameson Christian College, Holy Family University, the Professional Development Institute, and the International Christian University of Chesapeake. He is currently a preacher, and is involved in several local nonprofits.

Ethics and governance

  • Supports implementing a two-term limit, which requires a Home Rule Charter amendment (questionnaire)

  • Views integrity issues as the largest problem the Sheriff’s Office faces, and vows to restore trust to the position (questionnaire)

  • Plans to increase transparency of financial transactions, as recommended by the City Controller’s Office (questionnaire)
